Paul W. Mallory, M.D.

Dr. Paul W. Mallory is a fellowship-trained retina specialist and ophthalmologist providing medical and surgical retina care in Chattanooga and Cleveland, Tennessee. He specializes in diagnosing and treating diseases affecting the retina, macula and vitreous—the structures at the back of the eye that play an essential role in clear, detailed vision.

Dr. Mallory cares for patients with a wide range of retinal conditions, including age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal tears and detachments, macular holes, epiretinal membranes and other complex retinal and vitreous disorders. His advanced training in vitreoretinal surgery allows him to provide both medical management and surgical treatment based on each patient's individual condition and vision needs.

Dr. Mallory earned his medical degree from the University of South Dakota Sanford School of Medicine after completing his undergraduate education at Augustana College in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis and went on to complete advanced fellowship training in vitreoretinal diseases and surgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.

His goal is to help patients understand their retinal condition, discuss available treatment options and develop a personalized plan focused on protecting and preserving vision.
