P. Barrett Paulk, M.D.

Dr. P. Barrett Paulk is a comprehensive ophthalmologist at VisionAmerica, serving patients in Huntsville, Cullman, Decatur, and the surrounding areas of Alabama. He specializes in cataract surgery, laser vision procedures, and the medical management of eye conditions, including glaucoma and other common ocular diseases.

At VisionAmerica, Dr. Paulk provides patient-centered care using advanced diagnostic technology and modern surgical techniques. His approach focuses on delivering clear vision outcomes while ensuring patients feel informed and confident throughout their treatment journey.

Dr. Paulk earned his undergraduate degree in Biomedical Sciences from Auburn University, graduating summa cum laude, before completing his Doctor of Medicine at the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Medicine. He went on to complete his ophthalmology residency at Callahan Eye Hospital, one of the region’s premier eye training programs.

He has been recognized for both academic and clinical excellence, including induction into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society and the Gold Humanism Honor Society.

I enjoy spending time with my wife and two sons.

What are your hobbies:

I enjoy the outdoors, including fishing, hunting, traveling, cycling, and hiking. I am also a proud Auburn alumnus and enjoy attending Auburn sporting events.
