D. Lee McDaniel, M.D.

Dr. D. Lee McDaniel is one of Tennessee’s most experienced cataract surgeons, specializing in advanced medical and surgical treatments for cataracts and glaucoma. With nearly 45,000 procedures performed by the end of 2024, he brings extensive expertise in laser-assisted cataract surgery, premium intraocular lens technology, and the correction of astigmatism and presbyopia (reading vision).

Dr. McDaniel offers a full range of glaucoma treatment options, including Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgery (MIGS) and traditional glaucoma procedures, enabling personalized care tailored to each patient’s condition and long-term vision goals.

He works closely with referring optometrists and eye care providers to deliver coordinated, comprehensive care—from initial diagnosis through surgical treatment and postoperative management—serving patients across East Tennessee.

Outside of his clinical work, Dr. McDaniel is deeply committed to medical mission work. He has participated in numerous international outreach efforts, providing vision care to underserved communities, and remains actively involved with See Him Ministries in Cap Haitien, Haiti.
